    2014 South Texas SHRM Chapter Achievements

    On behalf of the Society for Human Resource Management, We are pleased to confirm that our chapter has been awarded the 2014 Bronze EXCEL Award.  This award recognizes outstanding achievements in chapter operations and a commitment to providing meaningful programs and services to your members. It also is recognition of our continued growth and development as a business leader, capable of developing strategies that lead to business success!  We are very proud of your leadership, and thank you for your continued partnership with SHRM. By achieving this award, our chapter distinguishes itself as an outstanding organization dedicated to serving the needs of your members and to the advancement of the human resource management profession.  Throughout the year, we will continue to recognize our chapter's achievement as a Bronze EXCEL award winner.

    South Texas SHRM, is a 2014 SHRM Foundation Champion. Thanks to your hard work, the SHRM Foundation was able to award more than 100 scholarships to HR students and professionals, fund more than $4 million in HR research since 2007, publish complimentary educational resources, and advance thought leadership. You went above and beyond and your dedication is shaping the future of HR.

    2010 South Texas SHRM Chapter Achievements

    January 2010

    •  Recognized by the Texas State Council SHRM with the highest attainable chapter membership rating of Super Star Chapter
    •  Earned the highest attainable chapter rating of Superior Merit
    • Chapter President MeLisa Rogers accepted position to serve as a State District Director

    February 2009

    •  First “official” quarterly chapter membership meeting.
    • Topics included benefits and compensation. 2 HRCI credits were awarded.
    • Speakers were Linda Hooper from Brinson Benefits and Bob Cartwright, SPHR, President & CEO, Intelligent Compensation LLC – Austin, Tx

    June 2009

    •  Chapter Charter Celebration at Texas Roadhouse in Victoria.

    • Partnered with Workforce Solutions of the Golden Crescent to bring the 3rd Annual Employer Symposium “Bridging The Gap” to Victoria College for area business to learn more about motivating and retaining the disabled workforce.
